Welcome baby Joselle! It was your baby shower that started it!

My granddaughters Lainey and Joselle are the reason I started East Bay Cakes, starting with Joselle's baby shower, and the whole idea just gained momentum from there! I worked at a bakery in a very different era in time, the 80's and the trend was whipped cream , buttercream, fountains and more buttercream. Pretty much nothing like what is popular today, so I am constantly taking classes, learning and practicing all forms of sugar art and it is so exciting! Joselle's cake there...well I hadn't touched fondant in 5 years and this was my first crack at it in a long time.

Everyone should have a special cake just for them I think, at least a few times in their life, right? A fantastic dessert bar at a sweet sixteen? You bet and by popular request... here we are!

So from September to the end of December 2014, it's been a magical journey so far and I see and feel nothing but goodness from our Family to yours ...May you have a Happy New Year!
